Are you missing out on Bible study because of your schedule? Does your travel keep you from committing to a weekly class meeting? DISCIPLE Online might be right for you.
This Disciple Online group is being offered by Patti Molik for members of Upper New York Annual Conference. Participants must covenant together to study the scriptures faithfully for the duration of the course (34 weeks) and participate weekly in one live session on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Eastern Time beginning with an orientation on Thursday, September 6.
Each week, a short review of the week’s scriptures by Bishop Richard Wilke, the author of DISCIPLE, will be presented online for participants to watch. These will lead into key questions for weekly discussion. Participants will do their daily reading and reflection with their manual on their own, and every Thursday from 7-8:30pm, there will be a live session online which walks the group through more discussion, exercises, and time for prayer together. Assignments for weekly group work will include responding to questions on a group discussion board along with prayer requests and written prayer petitions.
Course Requirements: High speed internet access, a red DISCIPLE study manual, a microphone and earphones or headset, and an adventurous spirit and desire to study the Bible in a new way!
Participants will need to order their own Disciple Bible Study manual from Cokesbury: Disciple I Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study: Study Manual: Second Edition
