Does your church need a website? Considering that nearly half of all first-time visitors report using the church website as their first point of contact, the answer is YES! Building a church website is easy and affordable with the helpful steps and support you will receive in this workshop. By the end of the week your church will be on the web! Course instructor, John Zimmerman, will walk with you to understand the why’s and how’s of a church website and give you all the tools and registrations to be online.
Here is what you get with your workshop registration:
- A five-day online workshop to introduce you to church website development.
- Following the workshop, a live, virtual one-on-one session with John to meet you at your skill/comfort level and keep you moving forward.
- PLUS a hosting of your website for a full 12 months through well-respected GoDaddy.com.
- PLUS a unique domain name for your church (so your church page will be its name, like “www.yourchurch.org”).
- PLUS up to five email addresses with your domain name in the address (so your email addresses will be “@yourchurch.org”).
Can you do this? If you are comfortable using word processing software like Microsoft Word, you can design, build and update a website for your church!
(During the workshop, expect to spend about an hour during your day completing the assignments. Also, on the Thursday of the workshop there will be a live session at 9pm (ET). It will be recorded if you cannot attend live)

About the Instructor
Rev. John Zimmerman grew up in the rural community of Stoystown, Pennsylvania which is a few miles from the terrorist crash site of USAir flight 93 on September 11, 2001. He heard the call into the ministry just after graduation from high school and attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate degree and obtained his master’s degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. Pastor John served 28 years in pastoral ministry in local church settings. He has always recognized the spiritual gifts of preaching, healing, and evangelism in his Christian life. God has allowed these gifts to be used in a variety of local church settings which include rural, suburban and city.
Beginning July 1, 2013 Pastor John left local church pastoral ministry and is appointed as General Evangelist in the United Methodist Church. He launched his current ministry as the founding director of About Face Church Outreach Consultants. He offers a consultant model of ministry with local churches around the country to engage in long-term relationships within the context of the local church mission field. He and his wife help churches move into this new paradigm of ministry that reflects more fully the New Testament Church.
He is also with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association serving as the Pennsylvania Area Coordinator of the “My Hope with Billy Graham” project. My Hope is a relational evangelistic opportunity to lead friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. into a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ.
He enjoys hunting, camping and opportunities to enjoy his family. His wife, Christine, holds a K-6 grade teaching certificate and is a fourth grade reading teacher in the local school district. Chris recently finished her Master’s Degree at Edinboro University. She is a great asset to Pastor John’s ministry and loves serving the Lord with him. Her interests include camping, traveling and crafts. The Zimmermans are blessed with four wonderful boys.
