The book, God Can’t: How to Believe in God and Love After Tragedy, Abuse, and Other Evils, was an instant Amazon best seller. The book’s radical ideas help people understand what God is or is not doing about suffering. God Can’t makes the radical claim that God neither causes nor allows suffering, because a loving God cannot control others.
In this course, the author of God Can’t, Thomas Jay Oord, works through the book with you chapter by chapter. The course involves group discussions about controversial but life-giving ideas. It provides insights and tips on how to share the ideas of God Can’t with a group, class, or audience. Both the instructor and your fellow students offer wisdom on the implications of the book’s message, and they develop methods to help others grasp its messages.
There will be a few live video chats, but they will be recorded and available for those who aren’t able to participate live.
If you care about understanding and then sharing the message of God’s uncontrolling love, this course is for you. Get a copy of God Can’t and join the class!
