This course is a two-week Bible study on the Gospel According to Mark. It is not an exhaustive study. Though Mark is short (16 chapters) the course will not examine all of the text of this gospel. Instead it will lift up highlights that reflect Mark’s unique take on the Jesus story. Some of these appear only in Mark, and not in the other gospels.
Mark’s telling of the Jesus story is rather harsh on the disciples, Jesus’ earthly followers. This means that Mark can be a way for readers to check out their own Jesus-following by listening closely as Jesus deals with his disciples in the story.
This course is eligible for 1.0 CEU.
