Mark’s gospel is harsh on Jesus’ disciples – which may be one reason why it tends to be the least favorite of the four gospels, even though it’s the shortest. It can be hard to relate to such fallible followers while trying to see ourselves as faithful Christians! But in writing the way he does, Mark gives us a mirror by which we can gauge our own attempts at following Jesus. The ending of Mark’s gospel is a surprise – and an invitation. Join us in this journey with Jesus.

This course is for ordinary Christians seeking to deepen their discipleship. It will introduce some elementary observations from biblical scholarship in 3 sessions per week for five weeks through Lent.

Participants will use the Common English (CEB) Study Bible as the course textbook. If you already have a study Bible in a different translation and do not wish to purchase another, you can download a portion of the CEB Study Bible including the entire book of Mark for free.

This course is eligible for 1.0 CEU.

Price: $50.00
