John Martin is a contractor for an International Facilties Management company who spends his time between the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He says of his experience with Disciple Online:
"I can only describe it as a journey. It was the first time I had undertaken reading with a Study Bible.
Apart from the commitment to read approx 2/3rds. of the Bible from Genesis through to Revelation,
the weekly ‘meetings’ was the most helpful as we has discussion questions and exercises to
complete together. We may not have had physical or even visual contact, but the group soon
became a unit that understood each other, and having people with different levels of Bible exposure
proved a good experience too . I found that the weeks we did not ‘meet’, I wanted to find out
more and probably read and researched more than was really necessary."

David Kueker offers repeatedly offers Disciple Making 101 as an opportunity for others to try out online learning thru BeADisciple.com. This recent email message is shared by permission from Barbara Welsh of Ash Grove UMC in Paxinos, PA:
“Thank you so much for your help in attaining the CEU certificate! The course was a joy to take, and it was a wonderful way to coordinate with others with similar interests. For me, this was an ideal way to meet, learn from, and expand my knowledge and base of information for future endeavors in disciple-making. I was honest in saying that, in the beginning, I was looking to meet the requirements of my CEU's, but was pleasantly surprised with the course and the wealth of information that I was able to glean from David and the others.”
A nice testimonial about Uncensored Prayer: The Spiritual Practice of Wrestling with God with Joy Wilson:
"Joy was great to work with. She gave concrete, often very detailed feedback on our assignments. She was excellent at threading together diverse thoughts and making me see some of my responses in new ways. The course itself opened my eyes and heart more fully to the power of this kind of prayer. I have done some of this kind of work before, but not nearly as richly as I can do now. I also feel well grounded in encouraging others to both consider this kind of prayer (in fact I already have done this), as well as to consider taking this class. Joy's book, and the life experience she shares, is very powerful evidence that this kind of prayer works. Joy herself was incredibly compassionate and encouraging with everyone in the class. I'm so glad to have been in this class - especially at a time I am wrestling with something pretty significant in my spiritual life. Thanks to everyone involved in the decision to offer this course." -- Uncensored Prayer course participant
Message received regarding Biblical Storytelling I taught by Beth Galbreath (shared with permission):
"Hi Beth,
I just wanted to share with you that I had the chance to do the entire worship service at two churches this Sunday. It was short notice (got a phone call at 6:00 in the morning Sunday) because the pastor and his wife were in the maternity ward having a baby! I decided to do the Biblical Storytelling of the Mark story I had picked for your class. As I worked with the scripture passage for your class, God opened up the story for me. He showed me many things that just a perfunctory reading doesn't reveal. I used that story Sunday in both services and expanded on it with what God had showed me during my time in your class. After the service I received many "amazing" comments from others and my e-mail box has been overflowing with positive comments on "telling" the scripture. Just wanted you to know how "amazing" it has been. I am now working on the story of Doubting Thomas for the 15th of April. Thanks so much for your class!
Blessings,
Mary" [Plock from Nebraska]
And one from Susan Panazze about UM History, Theology, and Practice of Holy Communion (Come to the Table):
"I learned so much more than I had expected and now have a much richer and deeper appreciation of communion and the meaning behind the way we do it."
A written word about Retirement Matters: Transitions, Opportunities, Challenges let by Jerry Haas and Jack Hansen:
“I would definitely recommend this class to anyone close to retirement, those just having retired and those having retired a few years ago. The class discussions and resource book answer the questions of "what now" and how to have fulfillment on the journey to knowing "what now" is. Also, through the interaction with others, you don't feel like you're the only one not having all the answers about what retirement is. Often times, the emotional part of retiring is not discussed/studied enough. This is what this class is all about.”

Pamela Nelson-Munson, pastor of Trinity UMC, Eugene Oregon, has taken two online workshops with IFD instructor, Rev. Daniel Benedict. She says:
"BeADisciple.com has been probably been "the" most important continuing education experience I have had in the last decade. With the on-line format, I had the flexibility to log on in my own time zone in line with my personal schedule. The real-time class-discussions were fast, fun, and invigorating. The content of the courses have been relevant and continue to inform my ministry.
Our instructor, the Rev. Dan Benedict, was prepared, challenging, pastoral, collegial, and supportive in the learning and discerning process. I highly recommend BeADisciple.com courses to all church professionals, and anyone who is up for good academic/practical, ministry/faith, and information/praxis experience!"
Barbara Barden, Minister of Education at Myers Park UMC in Charlotte NC, has participated in online workshops including Maximizing Disciple in Your Church and How to Provide Your Workshop Online. Here is what she says of her experience:
"It was good to connect on-line with other folks leading Disciple programs in their churches and to hear both the struggles and the celebrations. There were also some very creative ideas for promoting Disciple and some challenging questions that are still giving me ongoing reflection. Perhaps the most helpful thing to my ministry was having a forum to focus on what we are doing; a reminder of why we give ourselves to do the hard work necessary to reach folk; and an experience in the sharing with others across the country that through our connection of both accountability and support we had much to celebrate of God's transforming work being done through Disciple. Thanks for all you do."
