IFD255 – Companions in Christ Small Group Leader Training
Course Dates: Check Back Soon
Are you considering leading a Companions in Christ small group? This training opportunity led by Sharon Conley Cottingham will help prepare you. Leaders who guide Companions in Christ small groups well have practiced the art of listening well (to God, themselves, and others), act as facilitators rather than teachers, and fully enter into the struggles and joys of walking with God along with the members of the group. Through this course, we will prepare to lead well.
The training is 5 days in duration and asks for about 1 hour per day of involvement. Participants will need to purchase copies of the Companions in Christ Leader’s Guide and the Companions in Christ Participants Book. A 20% discount is available when these books are purchased through the Upper Room online bookstore. Information including the discount code will be emailed to you during daytime hours following the receipt of your enrollment.
This course is eligible for 0.5 CEU.

Sharon has worked at The Upper Room since 2005. Much of that time has included involvement with some aspect of Companions in Christ® –leading training events, working with training teams, marketing Companions resources, developing the Companions websites, even serving with a Companions training team in South Africa. Currently, Sharon’s work at the Upper Room is focused on eLearning and broadly connected to all Upper Room resources. She creates, leads, and develops online learning programs that feature Upper Room Books, Magazines, and Programs.
Before joining the staff at The Upper Room, Sharon worked with college students at Florida Atlantic University and graduate students at Vanderbilt University with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She enjoys visiting family in South Florida, hiking and biking the hills of Tennessee, traveling with Stephen, and growing more flexible via her yoga class.
